Minor revisions

There is frequently some minor oozing of blood, either out the nose or down the throat, following your procedure. If it runs out steadily, you should call the office.

Healing occurs best in a moist environment. You should use Bacitracin® ointment in the nose three times a day. Place it just inside the nostril(s) using a Q-Tip.

It is not uncommon to experience some crusting in the nose for 1-3 weeks. The ointment will help. This will gradually abate as healing continues. If you have problems clearing it, you can spray your nose with salt-water nasal spray, available over the counter (Nose Better®, Ocean®, AYR Nasal®).

It is OK to blow your nose gently. Do no heavy blowing or heavy lifting for one week.

If you have any questions or problems you think might be related to your procedure, please feel free to call us at 508-540-0900 at any time.
