Douglas G. Mann, MD, FACS

Dr. Douglas Mann is Board certified in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic surgery. A graduate of Yale University School of Medicine, he also did his Ear, Nose and Throat training at Yale. He has been in practice for over twenty years, and has extensive experience in all aspects of the specialty. He has particular interest in disorders of the nose and sinuses, having had nasal surgery himself when he was a medical student. He has a great interest in music, and sings in a local men’s group, "Notescape.cod."

His interest in music has naturally led him to be interested in disorders of the ear and hearing, so closely aligned with the ability to appreciate music. As a singer, he enjoys treating those who sing, and all those who may have difficulty with their voice. To this end, he has equipped his office with video stroboscopy, a tool which allows more accurate diagnosis of vocal difficulties.

Dr. Mann enjoys teaching, and has lectured to hundreds of other physicians, allied health professionals, and the general public in numerous lectures on various subjects throughout his career. He has published several papers in the field, and contributed to textbooks. He is currently on the speaker’s bureau for three pharmaceutical companies as well. He considers individual patient education the greatest thing he can do for his patients (besides getting well, that is).

Dr. Mann moved to Falmouth in 2004 with his wife, Jane Schweitzer, MD, who practices Ophthalmology here as well. He loves living here in Falmouth, where he lives with Jane and his two sons, Max and Ben. He enjoys golf, running and biking, and looking at the water doing all three.
