Financial Policies

Basic Policy

PAYMENT IS DUE IN FULL AT THE TIME THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED. Cash payment will be expected from out of state patients. We will provide forms for you to submit to your insurer.

For Patients with Local Insurance

We will be participating with major insurance companies such as Medicare, Tufts, Harvard, BC/BS and Mass Health. We will bill these insurers for the services we provide given your permission to do so. When we participate, we agree to accept the insurer’s fee schedule. Since your agreement with your insurer is a private one, we do not routinely research why an insurance carrier has not paid or why it has paid less than anticipated for your care. Ultimately, though, our service is provided to you, and you remain responsible for payment for that service if your insurance does not pay within 60 days for reasons of deductibles, co-pays, or non-covered services.

  • We will ask for co-pays at the time of your visit.
  • If you know that you have not met your deductible for the year, we appreciate your paying whatever portion of your bill that would be your responsibility under your plan.
  • Non-covered services should be paid at the time of service, or 2 weeks prior, for cosmetic surgery. You may be billed following a visit for a service your insurer has deemed non-covered.

Payment is expected within 30 days of billing to you. Interest will be charged on patient balances after that time.

Since we are a new practice, we won’t be in the provider books for a while. Ask our receptionist when you call about our participation status with your insurer.

Personal Injury Cases

This office does not bill for auto accident or liability of lawsuit related cases. You are responsible for payment at the time of service.

Financial Hardship

We recognize that people sometimes have special circumstances that can make it difficult to ask for medical care because of the expense involved. If you are in a difficult financial situation, we will take care of you. Ask us to set up a payment plan that will work for you.
